《 Week 1 》


☆ After 2 Years From Releasing Prototype Project Called "EuroVision Simulator" I Decided To Get Back To It And Finally Finish It. I Moved From Unity Engine To Godot Engine And Started Working On A Brand New Version Of Previous Prototype From The Scratch With The Hopes To Fully Finish It And Publish. So... By Week 1, What Do We Have? 👇


• Music Player: You Can Listen To The Eurovision 2024 Songs While Playing The Game, Songs Will Be Played Randomly. You Have A "Music Controller" Where You Can Adjust The Volume, Tap Button To Play Next Random Song Or Tap Another Button To Turn Off/On The Music


• Country Selection Menu: Menu Where You Will Be Able To Choose The Country You Want To Play With, You Can Click "Keep Previous" To Keep The Same Country You Used To Play Previously Or Just Click "Generate Random" To Play With Random Country From The Selection


• Currency System: You Have 3 Types Of Currency Currently: Money (Used To Buy Various Things Ofc.), MP ("MusicPoints" Used To Buy Things Connected To Your Music, For Example: Doing A Revamp And Etc.) And SP ("StagingPoints" Used To Buy Things For Your Staging, For Example: Lightings And Etc). Each Country Has Its Own Amount Of Currency, For Example Big 5 Countries Have More Money But Less MP And SP Compared To Others.


• Calendar System: You Start The Game From 6th November, Which Means That You Have To Play For 27 Weeks (AKA. 27 Turns). Each Time You Click "Advance" Button You Advance For 1 Week, After 27 Weeks The Semi-Final And Grand Final Of ESC Will Start


• Random Events System: After Clicking The "Advance" Button, The Game Will Automatically Generate A Random Event And Your Response To The Event Affects A Lot (For Example: "Your Singer Got Sick, What Should We Do?"). Currently There Are No Events, Only The Code. Events Will Be Added In The Future. ACTUALLY You Can Write Me An Events You Want To See In The Game.


• Singer Selection: When You Start The Game First Thing You Must Do Is To Start Working On Your Singer And Song. You Must Choose The Way You Will Find Your Representative: Find By Yourself, Hire Popular Singer And Etc. You Can Adjust Some Properties, For Example "Gender: Male, Female, Duet Or Group" And "Name Of Your Singer — You Have An Ability To Write Anything As The Name Of Your Singer, Max.24 Letters.


• Song Selection: Similar To The Singer Selection, First You Decide The Way You Will Make The Music And Then Adjust Properties: Genre, Language And Name.


• Stats For Singer And Song: Singer Has 4 Type Of Stats: Charisma, Vocals, Look And Popularity. Music Has 3 Stats: Melody, Lyrics And Rythme. We Also Have 1 Stat For Your Entry In General And That Is "Hype". These Stats Will Affect The Final Result, Better Stats = Better Result In The End. The Base Stats For Your Entry Will Be Randomly Generated When You Choose The Singer And Song.


• Improving Singer/Song: After You Choose The Singer/Song And Get The Base Stats For Them Then You Can Start Improving Them, For Example You Can Start Training The Vocals Of Your Singer (It Will Cost Money + MP And Will Take 3 Turns To Finish, But After Finishing You Will Increase The Vocals Stat). 


• Publishing The Song And Hype: After You Are Done Improving Your Song You Can Click "Publish" Button. The Next Turn Your "Hype" Stat Will Increase Or Decrease, It Depends On How The Public Likes Your Song. Your Hype Also Depends On The Popularity Of Your Singer. After Publishing The Song You Can Only Improve It By Revamping.

here are my thoughts/suggestions. these are very vague as i don't know all the details.

  1. it would be cool for the years to keep going rather than doing the same 2024 year. for example we can play as the same delegate for 2025,2026,2027 etc. and if we do well we can get offers from other countries to be their delegation
  2. for "hiring famous singers" i think there should be a brief description. for example if i played as armenia it would be "Rosa Lin" and a small description would be "Global artist" and she will be expensive. or "Malena"

"Junior Eurovision winner for Armenia".

3. for the song selection i hope we can chose a mix of languages and genres. for example Language: English/Armenian Genre

Pop/Rock

4. for improving singer and song. i think improving "Stage Precense" would be a cool idea. especially if the country had a national final and it's low in the odds.

5. it would be cool and challenging to see disappoint results from fan favorites. let's say we were expected to qualify but staging was bad or we were just a shock non qualifiers or low televote in the final. and vise versa, we could be a shock qualifier or get 300 points in the final from televote

6. for the random events here are some ideas

  • "Your Song went viral on social media" and this could boost the hype but a significant amount. or "Your song is revived poorly on social media" and bringing down the hype.
  • you can be asked for interviews by eurovision reviewers and things like that
  • maybe some donations from fans for staging or revamps
  • messages from other celebs or participants wishing good luck improving voting scores from those countries. For example the president of France could tell the french delegation "The french president wishes the delegation good luck. he gives $5000 as a bonus". or "The participant from Norway wishes you good luck" and builds relationship and norway would vote a little more for the country.
  • in the interviews we do we could have an option to "skip interview" which would skip the interview "Sim interview" which would randomly decide the affect it has on your hype and "Go to Interview" and it could have 3 questions and each answer could either be a positive or negative or neutral reception to your hype

other details i think would be cool

letting countries like Wales, Monaco, Andorra, Liechenstien, Turkey, Slovakia, Morocco, and even Kazakhstan be options

if the game can go on for years then letting us withdraw but still watch. let's say i was Norway and wanted to compete in 2024 then in 2025 i can withdraw but still sim that year. and return in 2026.

some questions for the interviews could be

"what does your song mean? what was the meaning behind it?"

"how did you make this song? did you find it easy"

or it could be just fun random questions.

that's all i have for right now but this looks really promising:)

First Of All, These Are All Great Ideas! I Will Comment On Them One By One:

1 - Ofc The Years Will Change But The Calendar Will Stay The Same (Meaning The Dates For PreParties And Etc). About The Selection Of Countries: In The First Version Of This Game You Will Be Able To Choose Any Nation, But In The Future Yes I'm Planning To Add This "Career Management" Feel To The Game Where You Will Start From 1 Country And You Will Get Offers From Other Countries Based On Your Performance (Similar To The FIFA Career Mode) (But This System Will Not Be Active At The Release Of The Game)

2 - As It Is Mentioned In The DevLog You Have An Ability To Name The Singer, Therefore You Will Not Get Rosa Lin Automatically But You Are Not Restricted, You Can Name Your Singer Anything You Want. "Hiring Famous Singer" Only Affects The Popularity Stat And Nothing Else

3 - That Was An Initial Idea Buuuut... Some Coding Problems Soooo... I Don't Know If We Will Be Able To Have Multiple Languages, But We Have 42 Genres: Pop Rock, Folk Pop And Other Mixes Of Genres (Genre Doesn't Affect Anything, At This Moment It Is Just A Cosmetic And Roleplay Thing)

4 - That's A Great Idea! But About National Finals... Again, At The Release Of The Game Nation Finals Will Not Be Available, But Who Knows Maybe In The Future.

5 - Yes... Yes... The Randomness Is A Big Part Of This Game

6 - I Will Definitely Incorporate These Ideas Into The Game, And Actually The Interviews Will Be Available Not In The Random Events But In A Separate Menu Alongside With "Doing Advertisements" And "Attending Pre-Parties"

7 - It Is Hard To Replay On The "Withdrawing" Topic Because At The Moment I Don't Have A Clear View On How The Results Are Gonna Be Announced: Maybe It Will Just Display Your Jury And Tele Points And Nothing Else, Maybe Other Countries Will Also Be Included But At The Moment I Don't Know About That.
